Best Matcha Latte Recipe in 8 Easy Steps | Aura Blender Recipe

Are you a fan of Starbucks matcha lattes but looking for a good recipe for a pocket-friendly alternative? This matcha green tea latte recipe lets you create a homemade version low in calories and with lots of health benefits such as being rich in vitamins & antioxidants.

For this recipe, you'll first want to make sure to use a high quality matcha powder, such as ceremonial grade matcha powder from CraftTeaFox, which uses authentic Japanese green tea powder, also known as Uji matcha sourced from Kyoto.

Ceremonial grade matcha is the highest quality of matcha powder available and considered culinary grade (yes, matcha powder comes in different grades too!) A good quality matcha powder makes all the difference between culinary grade matcha lattes and mediocre-taste matcha lattes.

While traditional matcha tea usually requires a matcha whisk, a quick & easy way to achieve a matcha latte without needing a matcha whisk or milk frother is by using an Aura Portable Blender in just 8 easy steps!

Tip: The Aura Blender has measurement markings on its jar which makes it easy to follow the recipe below.

Here's how to make the best matcha latte:

  • 6 tsp Ceremonial Grade Uji Matcha Powder from CraftTeaFox
  • 120 mL of non-boiling hot water
  • 160-240 mL of your preferred milk such as oat milk, soy milk, coconut milk, unsweetened almond milk, plant-based milk, regular whole milk or cold milk

  • Vanilla extract (optional if you prefer vanilla flavour)
  • Ice cubes (optional for iced version)

Recipe Instructions:

  2. Sieve 6 tsp matcha green tea powder.
  3. Add sugar/honey/syrup to taste.
  4. Add vanilla extract (optional if you prefer vanilla flavour)

  8. Power on Aura Blender again and blend to a frothy texture.

And you're done! Enjoy your delicious matcha latte fresh from the jar or store your Aura Blender into an Aura Insulated Sleeve to keep it chilled for later.

Or if you're really feeling for a matcha latte in true Starbucks fashion complete with latte art, simply pour your matcha latte into a cup and add a dash of matcha powder atop. With some practice, you'll soon be serving up your very own perfect drink to wow family and friends!

Fun fact: Did you know? Matcha is actually ground green tea leaves in a very fine powder form that are wholly consumed. Matcha is different from regular green tea, the latter of which is made by steeping green tea leaves in tea bags, then removing the tea leaves. This means that with matcha, you're essentially drinking the entire tea leaf in the form of powdered green tea. In Japanese drinks cuisine, matcha powder produces a delicious drink with a vibrant green color and flavor, and also retains more nutrients.
